Our Partners

United States

We have stewarded the lands now known as the United States for generations. We honor the hundreds of sovereign Tribal Nations whose histories, cultures, and contributions continue to shape this country. We pay deep respect to our Elders-past, present, and future- whose wisdom, leadership, and care continue to guide our communities. We recognize that our relationships- with each other and with the land- are sacred. We care for one another and for the earth in ways that reflect our values, responsibilities, and ways of being. These relationships are rooted in reciprocity, respect, and the understanding that wellbeing is collective.

Our work in the United States

In the United States, the SPIRIT Project is delivered alongside Indigenous-led partners across the country, strengthening Indigenous families by combining the Family Spirit home-visiting program with culturally grounded play opportunities. The project supports parenting, child development, and cultural identity, ensuring that families are healthy, connected, and thriving.

Funding from the LEGO Foundation has enabled the creation of safe play spaces, cultural learning activities, and essential health supports. Through SPIRIT, Family Spirit home visiting has expanded into more communities, allowing each site to adapt lessons, integrate local culture, and create play spaces that reflect the unique needs of their families.

At the heart of the project is the belief that culture and play are essential pathways to family resilience and child wellbeing. SPIRIT creates spaces where children and families can thrive—fostering intergenerational learning, cultural connection, and joy as part of a global Indigenous movement that links communities through shared knowledge, creativity, and a collective commitment to nurturing the next generation.
