Our Partners

Australia

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, work, and gather, and pay respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging.

We honour the deep, ongoing connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with Country, and the sovereignty they have never ceded.

We commit to working in partnership, guided by cultural protocols and leadership, and to advancing justice and reconciliation

Our work in Australia

In Australia, the SPIRIT Project is coordinated by the Batchelor Institute in Alice Springs, working alongside a network of smaller partners across the country. These include language nest initiatives and on-country learning programmes in Northern Territory schools, the 2000 Day Project in New South Wales, and the work of Children’s Ground in Central Australia. Collectively, these partners span New South Wales, the Top End of the Northern Territory, and Central Australia.

The work is guided by the shared values of SPIRIT, with a focus on nurturing families through intergenerational Indigenous knowledge, cultural connection, and the transformative power of play. Across these communities, SPIRIT fosters spaces where children, youth, and elders can learn, heal, and grow—strengthening identity, wellbeing, and intergenerational connection.
