First 2000 Days

Who we are

First 2000 Days Program is a New South Wales Health initiative supporting families from pregnancy through the start of kindergarten (0–5 years) across Clarence Valley LGA. The Child & Family Wellbeing Hub, co-designed by Bundjalung, Gumbaingirr and Yaegl Elders and funded by Tresillian, Northern NSW Local Health District, Bulgarr Ngaru Medical Aboriginal Corporation, and Health North Coast, offers culturally safe, non-judgmental support with a focus on Aboriginal children and those facing socio-economic challenges. The program offers a range of services tailored to family needs guided by the First 2000 Days Framework, a strategic policy outlining actions needed across the NSW health system.

Our Work with SPIRIT

The Hub intends to better connect our work with SPIRIT by actively engaging with Gummyaney Aboriginal Preschool and the language nest through Gumbaynggirr Giingana Freedom School to strengthen Child & Family Wellbeing Hub for Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung and Yaegl nation community groups.

What SPIRIT means to us

What SPIRIT means to Child & Family Wellbeing Hub is it connects our Hub and community with Indigenous excellence, Culture and Wellbeing across the world and provides framework for our future engagement within community and provides clear evidence of cultural practice being the direction for family wellbeing delivery.
