Who we are
Skowkale First Nation, located in Chilliwack, British Columbia, is part of the Stó:lō Nation. In 2023, the Nation opened the S'iwesá:ylhem Childcare Centre, offering spaces for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. The Centre delivers the Aboriginal Head Start On Reserve (AHSOR) model, which blends daycare, preschool, out-of-school care, and family programming. The Head Start program and the Family Spirit program have developed a collaboration, increasing engagement and leading to higher attendance across both programs.
