From Around the Globe: Virtual Gathering Site Highlights:

Below, team members share a few of our exciting recent accomplishments in their own words during our bi-annual virtual gathering. The gathering was held on June 24th.

Desiree Mahy (Te Hou Ora Whānau Services, Aotearoa (New Zealand): We raised over $27,000 for our local Polyfest - a festival where primary schools and early childhood centers join to perform Pacific and Māori songs and dances as a celebration of our Pacific identities.

Tamara Littlesalt-Butler (Coconino County Health, U.S.): CCHHS Play Space will have a soft opening on July 25 with our families, followed by our July 30 opening to the public. We have held two social gatherings, the most recent featuring, "Frybread-A Native American Story," which included the opportunity to bake our own frybread.

Marie Ellis (Mparntwe, Australia): is launching her new poetry book, “I Am The Desert,” by Marie Elena Ellis. It can be ordered from Red Dirt Poetry. Preorder a copy of this beautiful work.

Vanessa Farrelly & Lee Causer (Pertame Language Nest, Australia): We made ABC News headlines! Read the article featuring our vision of becoming Australia's first total immersion Indigenous school here.

 

Center for Indigenous Health (CIH) news: First, a loud, sustained “Thank you!” to singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo and her Fund 4 Good foundation for offering support to the Center. We are deeply honored to be part of @daisychainfields, a benefit festival taking place August 29 in Irvine, CA. We greatly appreciate her recognizing the Center’s work, including Family Spirit, Hózhǫ́ Horizons, the Anishinaabe Canoe Migration, Cancer Care and our maternal vaccine program. Want to know more?
